the comeback of the New Kids on the Block? I'm not so much pissed at them for coming back--actually, its pretty funny in an ironic way, but it makes me mad at the music industry in general. Why does this crappy/rusty band get to come back and get all the media attention. I'm sure that their new album in no way compares to 'Broom' or 'Pershing', but they will earn much more money and attention than more deserving bands.
The pop music industry is a soulless entity where people like Lindsey Lohan's sister can decide to record an album, not write a single song, and sell thousands of copies of a crappy album that will be irrelevant in a matter of weeks.
I may be considered a music snob, but I'd rather listen to more complex music, music with a deeper meaning, more creative, etc.

but... but katy perry kissed a girl and she liked it
yea i laughed at the irony of the comeback for new kids on the block. some bands need to just let it go...even the good ones, leave with pride. and i am sure most people here agree with your speculation on the pop music industry

the music industry is so ridiculous. I really respect anyone who can write a good song and everything sslyby does is so much better than anything top 40. they are definitely the best (non defunct) band out there. once I had a dream that sslyby broke up and it was probably the saddest thing ever.

I hate spam! on a sidenote, I agree with what everyone is saying about music industry these days....everything is insincere and produced for the masses without any genuine concept or idea. Even the indie music industry is so trendy that bands come and go and the scenes are more about who's there rather than experiencing new, unique music. The only good thing about music today is that there ARE bands like sslyby that truly mean and love what they do and do it for reasons that are not superficial--they do it their own way. Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin is the most sincere band out there. (At least I think so)
