Yay kannika! I love it when I come on here or go to shows and see people as excited as me about their music. I mean, I know their music is great but it's also great to be reminded that I'm not crazy or just making it up. I even saw a friend in a wizard rock band post on Twitter about how he loved "Sink/Let it Sway," which made me do a little fist pump in the air. There's a demo of "Phantomwise" up on YouTube. I think I'm going to be watching it on repeat a lot in the next few weeks. I'm at work so I can't get the exact link off YouTube, but it's up on the band's channel: www.youtube.com/thesslyby

ugh I'm at work, can't access youtube . I don't know how many times I've listened to both "Everlyn" and "Sink/Let It Sway". The wait for this new CD is going to be a long one. Haha. Anyway, I'm really jealous because most of you have seen them live. I'm in the Philippines, which is like, worlds away from you guys there, so the chance of me seeing them play here is almost close to zero (though I'm not giving up hope). Just wanted to share this cute thing that happened via twitter. I posted about how my 12-year-old sister loves SSLYBY, so I'll forgive her for owning Paramore and Miley Cyrus CDs. I suspect it's Phil who responds to the tweets, and he said, "Haha..tell her we said hi in case Paramore never gets around to it " I thought that was really sweet. It's incredible how nice these guys are.

Phil is probably my favorite musician. Also, you can use this web site to rip the sound from the video: dirpy.com/

That's about one of the coolest things I have ever seen. P.S. I got to go to SSLYBY's Kansas City show last Saturday and they played "Sink/Let it Sway" live. I think it might have been the first time or one of the first times they'd played it at a show. It wasn't as tight as some of their other songs, which is understandable, but it was really cool to hear. Sorry I didn't record it. It was a fun show and the band seemed really happy and at ease and the whole audience was digging it and dancing, which was great for an early, all-ages show. AND after two years of trying I got one of my siblings to come to the show ;D P.P.S. I read in some blog comments that the album art comes from a movie called "Baraka." I've never seen it, but it sounds amazing. www.imdb.com/media/rm525834496/tt0103767 Both that movie and the album art feature a dance from Bali called "ketjak" or "kecak". The photographer Co Rentmeester published several photos of a ketjak dance, one of which Phil saw in a magazine a friend gave him. Here's the article where Phil talks about it: www.exclaim.ca/articles/generalarticlesynopsfullart.aspx?csid1=144&csid2=844&fid1=47556

I thought you'd get a kick out of this old video of "My Terrible Personality." I may have showed it to you before. My favorite part is 0:17-0:28 when Warren Sandwell of The Bootheel shouts out that he wants to have Will's babies. www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3hssDz2VIM

I asked John Rob about their Europe tour when I went to their KC show. He said they were going east coast, Europe, and then west coast.
I love their documentary video, especially the shots of Will and Phil looking so young, and the time Phil's drum fell over during a show because it was only propped up on a plastic bucket belonging to his mom (or something like that).
