I like that idea about the parks and playgrounds! It can be called something clever like 'Playtime' or 'Recess' (wow thats not a good name at all lol)
Love the idea about dueling reviews too! That would be really interesting!

Or you could call it Sneaks Out And each time you record with a band you could call it: "Stay In and Rock Out Sneaks Out with Pavement" or "Stay In and Rock Out Sneaks Out with HaHaTonka". And you can choose random places to go that are cool in your city or they could be totally normal. It could be a playground or a park or a sidewalk or behind a building. Except a lot of blogs do that and maybe it wouldn't be so unique if you had lots of places you snuck out to. Maybe you just have a few different favorite places in your city you sneak out to with bands when you interview them. And maybe you do start out somewhere, like in your house, and then maybe a shot of the front door and peaking out, then all loading in a van, then sneaking out of the van, sneaking to a spot, play/record, sneaking away, pile into cars, then video fades to black.

Haha, yeah. I was thinking that kind of stuff too...the random sneaking into your sister's room. I love the concept of sneaking out of the house and meeting up with your "friends" somewhere. You can even get creative for some bands and have fake footage of the band calling you on a cell phone from the location and you answering on a cell phone from inside your house, then footage of you sneaking out, then arriving at the location where they are already set up. So the interviewer would do the sneaking, rather than the band. Though you could do an occasional one where the band sneaks out to meet you.
Under the back porch at my parent's house is almost one story high, pretty wide, and has a concrete floor. If I still lived there it would be a prefect place to sneak out to and meet a band to record them playing music. Or at one of my old houses we had a platform tree house that was only 4 feet off the ground, or another house we had a little grove of trees with wild oranges. Or it could be a Dairy Queen you sneak out to and meet them. Or it could be a playground of course.
I think the bands would have a lot of fun with it...deciding where and how to sneak out.

Sneaks out? NICE!!! hehe the band calling you and you have to find them kind of reminds me of 'where's fluffy?' from Nick and Norah lol. I want to record a band in a parking lot, sitting on some cars!
Meghan, recording SSLYBY in your parents's closet IS sorta creepy, even for me lol. It would be totally rad though.
I'm thinking of emailing Matt Pond, he'd be into this sort of thing I think. and OH! Chris Chu of the Morning Benders is in BK right now working on the new record. We should totes hit him up.
