Can anyone explain a little more about this? One of my friends mentioned it to me after I described the new record to him.

Oh yeah, I remember that now. They performed as Survival Car the day after their show in KC in June. Phil's sister plays the piano and a guitar and is a really good songwriter. I've heard her sing too. She started an amazing band called The New Monsters Collective with Will and a few other people. You should order their first EP - "Buddy System" I think it's called. Jonathan James was the producer/engineer on it. I'm going to the CD release show for it on Aug 13.
Which reminds me - I saw Phil's sister join SSLYBY to make a five piece band to do a short set as a Tom Petty (if I remember correctly) cover band. It was downstairs at the Outland earlier this year. A whole bunch of other performers did Tom Petty covers the rest of the night too as part of a b-day party for the Outland owner. Then they went upstairs to the Outland Ballroom and played their regular SSLYBY show to a crazy all-ages sold-out crowd.
Man, I'm so jealous of all these talented people.
