I think there should be a bonus cd with the rarities album of Let It Sway demos.

i wish they'd make tour videos again because the best part of them was phil narrating them

i wish they'd make tour videos again because the best part of them was phil narrating them If you ever google Phil on the Ozarks Metromix websites you might find old reviews of bands and places to eat food in Springfield. Same awesome humor. P.S. The rarities CD release show is Friday Sept 9th at The Outland in Springfield, MO. Polyvinyl doesn't have pre-orders up yet, but will eventually before then. There are 26 tracks on the album and supposedly 7 are ones that even us on the forum don't have.

Wowzers. I hope it has the entire Gwyn/Grace Ep, I'd love to have it in better quality.

I saw a setlist from their show in Joplin a couple days ago and I noticed two new songs I'd never seen before: "Can't Wait" and "Won't Back." www.flickr.com/photos/hotdoc/5990006590/in/set-72157627188946255 You can see on the setlist that "Can't Wait" is before the switcher-oo and thus sung with John on lead, and "Won't Back" is after the switcher-oo and thus sung with Phil. It's either the three missing women song that Phil originally told me they're debuting Aug 5 or maybe the Tom Petty singalong the photographer mentioned that Phil sang that he wrote in second grade. Edit to add:"Dear Righty" is probably "Dead Right" and John was trying to be funny or something when he wrote out the setlist.

Wasn't there a song they were playing called Can't Back Down....I dunno, those names just reminded me of that Yeah, good memory! June 2009 I video recorded a song I called "Can't Back Down" because I thought John was singing "can't back down," but now it sounds more like "can't not now" to me. Or it could be "can't wait now" or "won't back down" . I think this is the link so you can see for yourself (or search thru my YouTube videos at sarahpoetwilkes): www.youtube.com/watch?v=p8ELnE8x4KoMajor edit: I just found out those two songs they did in Joplin are covers: "Won't Back Down" by Tom Petty and "Can't Hardly Wait" by The Replacements. And that video I linked above is another cover called "I Got Kinda Lost" - I think by Chris Bell.

Heard the three missing women song. It was a lot more upbeat than I expected, the rhythm and chorus were punchy and creative. A tiny bit in the same vein as Cardinal Rules, All Hail Dracula, and especially Phantomwise, w/ a dash of MC Migrainehead style. I couldn't record it because there were ceiling fans but no other ventilation so I was standing near the back.

*sigh* Yeah. Listening to Broom makes me wish my parents didn't have to get rid of their old upright piano. Do you guys remember "Letter Divine"? I think one of SSLYBY guys (Will maybe) told me Friday night that it's on the new album.

The name sounds familiar but I can't place it. I just got back from being a Fish Camp counselor which is the freshmen orientation program that is super awesome so I'm exhausted and I can't think straight

Yeah, that's what I've got too Ray - the Daytrotter Barn tour - the shows at the Riverhouse Barn and the Secrest Barn. I've got a live recording from an Aug 2009 show in Kansas City too, but as you can imagine it's not as good as the Daytrotter ones.
It's a semi-serious song but at one point John sings a lyric that sounds like "chocolate cream and laser beams."
