So phil did an interview with the AP today, and when he was posed with the question on how the band's name was a response to the American response of post-communist russia he replied:
"...we don't necessarily agree with everything that he did, especially involving Chechnya and how he abused his power sometimes. But it's not about his policy - it has more to do with the fact that everyone in the world could have loved Boris Yeltsin. Expecting Russia to switch to an open economy and capitalism so quickly and to be on our side and be our friend is sort of like expecting a miracle transition in Iraq."
That's really eloquent...and impressive. I hope they keep up the good PR work.
