I prefer Facebook, but I use MySpace for band news. And it's the best place for me to keep in touch with my brother. I don't like the ads, and I used to get a lot of requests from strange guys, so my profile is currently private, but anyone here is free to add me. www.myspace.com/sarahewilkes

thats so weird I only have 4 friends as well and I never go on unless to look at sslyby. I made it to get myspace secret shows JUST IN CASE anyone would ever want to go to florida (it was created after rilo kiley played one). my only freinds are the mommyheads (since they reunited and I wanted to be up to date), sslyby, secret shows and my friend oliver. however I do use facebook frequently, which is: www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1101180144

Like most of the group, I have a Facebook I use more often. I got it back when it was just for college students to keep in touch with friends graduating. I visit MySpace sites to sample music, but I don't have a MySpace account. I'm considering getting on as part of a "community building" exercise though. I dunno.
(I'm also part of a SSLYBY group or two on Facebook)

I used to be on myspace more but I ditched it for facebook. Now I only really use it for my terrible band and little record label. Myspace is boring after a while.

Here's what Twitter says about itself: "At Twitter, we ask one question, "What are you doing?" Answers must be under 140 characters in length and can be sent via mobile texting, instant message, or the web. [...] updates from your friends and relatives float to your phone, IM, or web site and you are only expected to pay as much or as little attention to them as you see fit. The result of using Twitter to stay connected with friends, relatives, and coworkers is that you have a sense of what folks are up to but you are not expected to respond to any updates unless you want to. This means you can step in and out of the flow of information as it suits you and it never queues up with increasing demand of your attention. Additionally, users are very much in control of whose updates they receive, when they receive them, and on what device."
So...like text messaging to all your friends and contacts at once and have everyone see, OR just to one person sometimes if you so wish. Looking at it from your online Twitter home page it looks a bit like a much slower version of an online text chat like Skype or MSM. You can have your account be public or, like mine, you can choose to make it private and make people ask to be approved first. You can choose who to "follow" and who you will "follow." It doesn't have to be mutual. You can choose to read people's updates on the web, but you can also choose to have certain individual's updates sent to your cell phone as real text messages.

I use myspace for: writing down things to make myself laugh (I laugh at my own jokes a lot), keeping up with bands, keeping up with my brother and family and such.
Without it, I would never know what shows are going on. Once in awhile, a (indie)big band will come down, Ra Ra Riot and Tokyo Police Club are playing sometime soon.....woooh!
But mostly I like making jokes that only I get. It's actually a problem. I'll be in the middle of class, and I start cracking up because of something I just thought of, and I'll have to bite my hand or something to keep from disrupting class.

I'll think of something hilarious one of my friends or I said the week before and have a cough attack trying to conceal the laughter. its actually a problem because I have laugh attacks at least once a week in class, sometimes because I'm making fun of some other person. also tokyo police club are coming here soon which is exciting. I use myspace to send messages to bands with 21+ shows (ie: no age), to see secret shows and to see if sslyby has any updates.
