the tracking status still only says "Electronic Shipping Info Received" D: when will you get to my doorstep, limited edition vinyl!? Based on my CD's shipping, and assuming "Electronic Shipping Info Received" was on Fri, then... Mon it will be processed through a sort facility in CHAMPAIGN, IL 61821. Tue it will be processed through a sort facility in a big city near you. Wed it will arrive at the post office assigned to your zipcode. Wed you'll see other statuses like "Sorting Complete," "Out for Delivery or Available at PO Box," and finally "Delivered."

I still haven't gotten an email from Polyvinyl about my preorder. And I preordered May 22. What is up with that?
Oh well. Anyway! the new record is awesome, and anyway, I wasn't even expecting the download till the 6th of August, so waiting for a few more days for the package is now more bearable because I get to listen to the record.
Can I just say I really REALLY love Made To Last?

Made to Last definitely calls back to the beach boy feel, john even drops a hint in the lyrics toward the end when he sings, "something of a golden age remains"
the album is so much more personal, i feel like this is SSLYBY's Pinkerton. it's raw and open. and phantomwise reminds me of a grungier weezer song, even though i can't pinpoint it to any of their songs specifically. Though that's a good thing.
i love, love, love this album. it's not as easy to digest. you have to keep listening to it because you keep discovering something new and exciting in the lyrics or instruments you may have missed the go-around before it.

Wait, there is another version of Oh God, I Saw That Lady's Hair? It's instrumental only and it's in a slightly different key - maybe a half step higher? Don't remember where I got it - possibly from "crazycstudios". Message me your email address if you want it and I'll send it to you. I guess I could email it to Meghan too and get it up on Tape Club. could you maybe send that version to me too sarah?

Ray, can you PM me your email address?
P.S. I've been busy today with church stuff. It's 5:30pm and I just put on Let It Sway for the first time today. I've never drank alcohol or smoked or abused any drugs - legal or otherwise. But as soon as I put "Back in the Saddle" on, I can only describe it like an addict getting a sweet sweet fix. This album is going to ruin me.

I spent the whole Saturday writing and listening to Broom, Pershing, and Let It Sway back to back to back. I love hearing the progression, and they just really make me happy. It's so awesome how the ending of Doris Tailspin sounds like it actually leads to the beginning of Back in the Saddle.
And yes! Critical Drain is awesome. It wasn't instantly my favorite, but then as I listened to it as I prepared for work, I realized that I have already memorized the whole song.
Anyone know why Bended (another awesome song - they never seem to run out of it in this record) is just a bonus track?

I like that Bended is just a bonus track. It really doesn't fit with the album, but it is a great song

It's definitely Weezer-esque. The album is so different, sonically, than the other two. I really enjoy the the little flourishes here and there like the little keyboard bits. I do miss songs that were more acoustic/piano based. Sure there is Stuart, but nothing like Dead Right, Travel Song, Gwyneth, or HEERS.
I'm already excited for what will happen on the next album! I wonder if they'll ever go back to record on weller st, now that they've done a proper studio album.
